Return of Cultural Heritage

We work to facilitate the return of Korean cultural heritage located abroad through
measures including collaboration with specialized domestic and overseas institutions and acquisitions.
Return of Cultural Heritage That Was Inappropriately or Illegally Removed from the Country
We regularly monitor international art markets for Korean cultural heritage. When cultural heritage that was removed from Korea illegally or otherwise inappropriately are identified, its retrieval is pursued through collaboration with the relevant institutions.
Purchase of Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage
We pursue the retrieval of Korean cultural heritage of significant rarity, historical and artistic value, among those submitted to art auctions or housed in overseas private collections of individuals or antique dealers.

The acquired cultural heritage is utilized in survey, research, and exhibition in both Korea and abroad.
